What are the Sassy Pink Peppers all about? It’s about women reclaiming control over their lives and living it more fully. It’s about taking stock of your current situation and thinking of ways to improve it. If one of the critical voids in your life is a lack of single girlfriends, you have come to the right place!!!
The Sassy Pink Peppers is also about attitude. A woman who is involved in a marriage that ends in divorce has two choices: She can either focus on the negative which keeps her stuck in the past and leads to bitterness, or she can decide that life is full of possibilities; and if she accepts change over pain, she can move on to achieve great promise.
Sassy Pink Pepper members choose the latter and are inspired to maintain their sense of humor and actively seek their potential through mutual encouragement within the group.
The Sassy Pink Peppers are NOT man-haters! Quite the contrary, we actually like men very much!! Pepper Protocol calls for no male-bashing or dwelling on the divorce. We embrace our motto which is to “laugh, dance, move on!”…and that includes moving on to more satisfying relationships with men, if that is what we want for our lives. Whatever our goals are individually, together we will reach them faster, stronger, and happier.
The Sassy Pink Pepper members are predominantly divorced or separated women between the ages of 28-67 (the majority in their 40's and 50's), but widows are welcome too. In fact, anybody who has been in a long-term relationship which ended may join. Records are not checked to verify an individual's marital status! A long-term relationship leaves the same scars even if it has not had the benefit of clergy.
Members can be found across the country and in some parts of Canada. Because the group is fairly new (October 2004), there are not as many “organized” chapters per se, as there are individual members who correspond and meet up through the internal email system (the system will pull up the 50 closest members in your area by zip code and mileage).
The single most often asked question is how did we get our name? The answer is:
- Sassy is an attitude. Yes, we are divorced, but being a divorced woman is simply a matter of perspective! We see ourselves as women who are empowered by our second chance to create the life of which we have always dreamed!!
- Pink is a feminine color and SPP is a women’s group.
- Peppers…well, the Founder’s then-13-year-old daughter thought it would be cute! Once the logo was conceived, everybody agreed that she was right and "Peppers" was absolutely per-fect!!
Why was this group started? Out of necessity!
