Has this ever happened to you? One minute your life is as you have known it, and then in a blink of an eye everything changes?

All that I was doing one Friday afternoon in April 2004, or at least so I thought (!), was having lunch with my girlfriend at a local restaurant. It was simply a casual glance over at a group of Red Hat Ladies, and a short conversation with them, that made me wish there was something similar (but more youthful) for me. I was newly divorced with very few single friends and a-lot of extra free time on my hands!

I had no idea that, as I walked out the restaurant doors, my life was never going to be the same again! Because I carried with me, not only a doggie bag, but also a thought - an idea - which would manifest itself as the Sassy Pink Peppers within a few short months! Just think about it! That's pretty powerful!!

Although I was very nervous, I made a choice. I decided to put one foot in front of the other, start a social networking website, and see where it led me. The end result was wonderful and serendipitous things happening!

And guess what? No matter how you found this group, whether surfing the internet or the suggestion of a friend, your life has the same possibility to transform into something hugely better! Many other members tell me "this is the best thing that has ever happened" to them! It is all up to you!

So please, take that first unsure step, by emailing or meeting up with other members in your area, so that the unexpected can happen for you, too!

One of the first questions new members ask is "How do I meet the other women?" The easiest way is through the member/chapter locator....

You may search for other Members in your area by entering your zip code and then clicking on "Search".

The automatic finder will display the 50 closest records to your zip code. Simply click on the "CONTACT" button to the right of the screen name and introduce yourself to those in your area.

Get together! Grab a hamburger, a cup of coffee, or meet for a happy hour! It's ALL GOOD!!

If you are intimidated to go to an activity the first time by yourself, PLEASE feel free to bring a friend with you!! The important thing is that you get out and meet the other women in your area.

What will you find when you get there? A very accepting group of women and you will encounter , what I like to call, the "social phenomenon". You will fall easily into the conversation because there is a common understanding of where you have been and there is no need to recite history - you will feel as if you have known the others for years. It's really quite bizarre!
